Abby’s Oversea Adventure: Journal Entry #1
Scotland rocks. The plane ride…. eh, not so much. First, we wake up early, and go to the Detroit Airport, where we fly to Newark, NJ. Our flight to Edinburgh wasn’t for another 4 hours, so what else to do then to stall in a fancy airport restaurant? So we go in there, and all it plays is hardcore jazz music. Don’t get me wrong, I love jazz, but sometimes the high-pitched notes, squeaks, and verbrato can get to you. We raced outta there.
Okay, the airport wasn’t so bad, but the plane was…. UGH. So first we find out that we’re put in the back, with all of the little (and loud) kids, and unaccompanied minors. Then, we find out that there’s no inflight movies or anything like that, and it’s not like other international flights - the seats are hard and small and cramped. Then, when we take off this guy behind us starts snoring. Uncontrollably. LOUDLY. The whole. Entire. Flight. And this little kid keeps climbing all over the seats and kicks my chair constantly. Sigh. But it was all worth it.
To me, Scotland looks like New York, but with less modern, and more fancy and old buildings. It’s also a lot quieter, and there’s almost no sirens. Ever. I love Scotland! It’s so green and cool and different! I’ll keep you posted on my other adventures…
